Kente Cushion 02

3rd Culture’s cushions are handmade in Istanbul using Kente fabric. Originating in Ghana, Kente is woven in long, narrow strips that are assembled to create larger textiles, traditionally worn by Akan and Ewe communities. Emerging in West Africa in the 17th century, this weaving tradition was once reserved for Asante royalty and ceremonial use. Today, Kente stands as a powerful symbol of cultural heritage, both in Ghana and beyond.
