This 3rd Culture pattern features the Duafe (wooden comb), the Adinkra symbol of beauty and femininity. Adinkra symbols originate in West Africa and have been used in African visual arts since the 12th century. The chintemani circles integrated into the pattern represent power, force and courage in Turkish decorative arts. Their roots lie in Asia, where they symbolize the three virtues of the Buddha.
The scarves and bandanas are printed with unique patterns created by our in-house designer to celebrate the beauty and strength that rises from cultural diversity. These light and super-soft scarves can be used as wraps to keep the chills away, or as pareos on the beach.
